Watching the Mists roll by

Together we watched the mists clear.
We saw the end of summer colours return to the woodlands.
In front of our eyes we witnessed the dawning of a new clarity as the sun rolled back the dewy covering.
For endless minutes we stood there, united in the thrall of the slow reveal, that magical happening over a sleepy world.
Up before the sun, we sensed the awakening of the valley and the distant arrival of the sun blessed mudflats.
