My Favourite Beach on Mull

Jason // August 6 // 8 Comments

Rising early, I was led down to the beach by a huge Highland bull who was in no hurry at all. The day dawned grey and overcast giving the incoming tide a feel of bluing steel. This beach is one of my favourites and I'll be returning later in the morning as the tide recedes to catch the patterns left in the black, silver and gold sands.

I've made a ten minute wave meditation for you too, for when you have a few minutes to spare and want to 'immerse' in the roll and roil of these gentle waves. It's 4K so do try to watch it full screen.

  • Thank you Jason for the beauty and intensity of this aural and visual experience, and for its timeliness. Only two hours ago I was walking with Highland Cattle on our community-grazed Golf Course at Brora, trying not to get in the way of golfers and also not wanting to antagonise these sturdy, obstinate coos!

In the end they let me walk through them beside the boundary fence to their safe field, and treated me to a chorus of mooing and a dance of face-rubbing (each others’, not mine!) and a bit of imprompu play-mounting, as they do… and I managed to film some of these antics!

A far cry from your majesic film, yet sweet and life-enhancing in its way, and with the blessing of the triple Goddess Brighid, whom I sometimes call in when the medicine walks include cattle or sheep, as they often do.

Great tit and several butterflies were also in evidence, and Jackdaw. Hurrah!

  • Perfect! I’ve been drawn to the sea recently. Had 5 weeks in my campervan through May trying to camp near the coast when possible, and another trip recently ( all mid Wales) Sadly, circumstances mean that I’m away from the coast for a while ( family bereavement) but this meditation will keep me going. Thank you 💕

  • Thank you Jason, magical and so refreshing to hear and see the sea as Desert life here is quite the opposite, love everything you and Nicola produce, amazing work thank you again!

    • Thank you Marina, it’s great to hear that the films have the same effect on you as the experience of creating them has on me.
